FRIENDSHIP: The point of friendship is about expressing love and gratitude towards those who understand you the most and celebrating the new found family you have gained.

FEMALE EMPOWERMENT: The idea behind female empowerment is uniformity, as females have all suffered the consequences of inequality regardless of the form it took. Through empowerment, we can unite together and make change for the good.

NATURE: There is a sense of freedom with nature, there are no boundaries that restrict anyone from making their own decisions and being who they want to be.

READING: Each book contains a unique story that then contains its own characters from various backgrounds with various circumstances and experiences. Through reading we can explore these varieties and we can learn from them ourselves.

HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY: With these subjects, we are able to explore different lives that have and are being led. There is an opportunity for a multitude of ideas and beliefs to be explored and shared.

However, I want to avoid illustrating the classic 'old school versus new school' but instead display the next generation escaping unrealistic and unfair societal expectations - whilst finding others in the same situation.

The idea of escapism links to all the categories mentioned above, in it's own unique way, but the all intertwine with each other. Creating distractions to escape reality can take multiple forms, from mentally fantasizing to to physically getting away. What an individual is escaping varies based on what that individual desires most from their lives - that can include the desire to escape societal standards and regimes.
